About Direct Payment Prepaid Cards
A Direct Payment prepaid card is a means for you to receive and manage your Direct Payment budget.
You can make online payments and make purchases by phone or in stores (so long as they are in line with your Support Plan)
Using online or telephone banking you can make payments to your personal assistant, HMRC and other payees to meet your assessed outcomes.
There is no cost to you to have a Prepaid Card.
The benefits are:
- You don’t need to open a new separate bank account
- You don’t need to submit bank statements to Encompass (but you do need to retain receipts)
- You can check your balance and review transactions easily online or by phone (with secure login and passwords)
If you are assessed as requiring to make a financial contribution towards your care, you can transfer funds from your personal bank account into your Direct Payment prepaid card.
