We are aware there is a national problem with the delivery of postal votes, with many voters still awaiting their postal packs

In response, we are opening a drop-in facility to allow postal voters, in the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk County Constituency, who have a problem with, or have not yet received their postal pack, to pick up a pack in person.

The facility will be open from 9am to 2pm on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June.

Voters should come to the Council Headquarters in Newtown St Boswells, with photographic identification and proof of address, and a postal pack will be issued to them.

David Robertson, Returning Officer for Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk County Constituency

“We’re aware this is a national problem, but we need to take action locally. I want to assure everyone we will do everything we can to make sure people in the Borders are given their democratic rights to vote in the General Election on 4 July.

“We are putting in extra resource over the weekend to help deal with the situation.  Your vote pack may still be in the post and be delivered next week. Please only attend if you have not yet received your postal vote and you will not be at home next week to receive it.

“If you already have your postal vote, please return it as soon as possible through the Royal Mail."

Only voters from Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk will be issued replacements. Any electors for Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale should contact Dumfries and Galloway Council for a replacement.
