Important notice for traders
There is new guidance for the storage and disposal of upholstered furniture items including sofas, chairs and beanbags. Please follow our guidance on upholstered seating for traders.
From 15 July 2025 we are no longer able to accept upholstered domestic seating from traders at any of our community recycling centres. If you are a trader, please visit this page for more information.
Trade Access Permits
Trade access permits allow you to deposit waste at one our community recycling centres.
If you're taking waste in a trailer or large vehicle you need to book a time slot.
Permits available
- recycling
- recycling and general waste
- charity disposing of donated household goods
- electrical household clearance

Applying for a permit
Before applying ensure you have:
- Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) Waste Carriers Licence or Professional Transport and Carrier of Waste Registration details
- Standard Industrial Classification of Economic Activities (SIC) code for business activity
- credit/debit card for payment of permit
- read and understood the terms and conditions
