Low and Slow project

Low and Slow was developed as a holistic way of addressing health inequalities for families and individuals who may experience food and/or fuel poverty.

This project aims to reduce fuel and food bills by providing a home energy assessment, advice and support and slow cooking recipes.

The project is run as a partnership, with the initial pilot involving: Joint Health Improvement Team, Changeworks, Burnfoot Community Futures, Newcastleton Community and District Trust and Morrisons.  As the project develops across the localities it will take on varied partnerships but will involve the Joint Health Improvement Team and energy advisors through all the programmes.

The roll out of the project continues with programmes in Galashiels, Burnfoot, Selkirk, Peebles and Eyemouth.
