The SPG intends to explain the application of the Structure Plan and Local Plan policies on biodiversity assets within the Scottish Borders, inform the Development Management process, inform developers and land managers about the requirements of biodiversity conservation and how biodiversity may be protected and enhanced through the planning process and provide a strategic good practice guide for development, particularly for planning officers and developers.
