Community Fund 2019/20
Community Fund 2019/20 (01 April 2019 – 31 March 2020)
The Community Fund provided support to voluntary and community groups that were active within their communities, and assisted communities or interest groups with the development of community based projects. The scheme was provided and divided up between each of the five Area Partnerships (Berwickshire, Cheviot, Eildon, Teviot and Liddesdale and Tweeddale), with an amount set aside for Borders-wide projects.
The Community Fund consolidated a number of existing funds, including the Community Grant Scheme, Quality of Life budget and net 2019/20 budget of the Localities Bid Fund. It was an application based funding scheme based on need and was created to mainly fund defined projects but was able to provide one-off support grants to help sustain groups themselves if necessary.
The 2019/20 Community Fund was open for applications from 01 April 2019 until 31 March 2020 and approximately £358k was awarded to 78 groups. Please see further detail on successful grant awards below.
