We are delighted to announce the start of a period of consultation on the draft Scottish Borders Autism Strategy 2014-24.
This strategy has been developed over the last six months as part of an extensive engagement process with people with autism, their carers and professionals and details seven priority areas for further development.
This draft local strategy is in line with the national priorities as outlined in the Scottish Strategy for Autism 2011.
As well as the draft strategy we are inviting comments on the draft Delivery Plan which outlines a broad range of actions linked to the seven priority areas.
Further work is needed to develop and refine these actions as it is currently only a potential programme of work spanning the ten years of the strategy.
Some of this development and refinement will happen as part of this consultation as well as obtaining clarity around where responsibility lies for taking the various areas of work forward. Without additional resources we are keen to get your comments on how we can take these areas forward. - Department
