Request or Question
Scottish Borders Council maintain 154 cemeteries in the region. I would like to know the amount spent on grass cutting per cemetery per year since 2018 broken down by cemetery. Please also let me know how many cuts each cemetery has per year.
Response
Some of the information you have requested cannot be provided because Scottish Borders Council do not hold it and therefore we give notice under 10(4)(a) of EI(S)R 2004.We do not record specific times spent grass cutting in cemeteries. Grass cutting is undertaking as daily duties and squads have rotas, which may include cemeteries in a particular area.Cemeteries are cut on a 20-working day rota and grass cutting starting early/mid April and will finish in late Sept or early Oct. depending upon weather and growth. Therefore, the cemeteries will be cut approx. 6-7 cuts per year
