I would like to request the following information, please:1. In each year since 2016, (a) how many stray dogs have been collected by the local authority and (b) of those how many had an identifying microchip?
2. In each year since 2016, how many dog wardens have been employed?

3. In each year since 2016, how many enforcement notices have been issued to keepers of dogs without microchips?

2016 – 32 stray dogs were collected and taken to kennels.
2017 – 34 stray dogs were collected and taken to kennels.
2018 – 26 stray dogs were collected and taken to kennels.
2019 – 13 stray dogs were collected and taken to kennels.
2020 – 13 stray dogs were collected and taken to kennels.
01.01.21 – 21.07.2021 – 2 stray dogs were collected and taken to kennels.

2016 – 1 dog had a correct identifying microchip.
2017 – 16 dogs had a correct identifying microchip.
2018 – 8 dogs had a correct identifying microchip.
2019 – 5 dogs had a correct identifying microchip.
2020 – 3 dogs had a correct identifying microchip.
01.01.2021 – 21.07.2021 – 0 dogs had a correct identifying microchip.

2. No dog wardens have been employed by Scottish Borders Council since 2016.
