Request or Question
Could I have an in-depth copy of the School Curriculum for P3 children in the Scottish Borders please?I have had a browse online but I am only finding very vague information. I'd like to know all topics that are being taught and the materials such as web addresses or books to be used in the classroom.
Response
In Scotland we do not have a curriculum for P3 children with defined websites and resources per se. All of our schools use A Curriculum for Excellence framework as published by Education Scotland to develop their individual context based curriculum rationale. Most children who are in P3 classes are working around the first level of CFE.

Benchmarks have been developed to provide clarity on the national standards expected within each curriculum area at each level. They set out clear lines of progression in literacy and English and numeracy and mathematics, and across all other curriculum areas from early to fourth levels (first to fourth Levels in Modern Languages). Their purpose is to make clear what learners need to know and be able to do to progress through the levels, and to support consistency in teachers' and other practitioners' professional judgements.
