Request or Question: Please advise the current number of staff you have employed on "zero hours contract".Please define according to the official definition: "They are on call to work when you need them. You do not have to give them work. They do not have to do work when asked."
Response: Scottish Borders Council do not employ individuals on zero hour contracts. We currently have a headcount of 1952 staff with casual/supply posts.None of them or on call to work. The Council does not have to offer work, and equally they can refuse any work offered.
