Request or Question
I would like to submit a Freedom of Information Request. Could you please share information about what can and can't be recycled at Christmas? Is there different guidelines when it comes to recycling at Christmas (for example wrapping paper, tin baking trays)Do you collect Christmas trees (meaning can your residents leave a Christmas tree next to the bin?)If there are no specific recycling rules around Christmas, could you please share your generic recycling guidelines?
Response
There are no different guidelines for what can be recycled at Christmas. There have been messages in the past on RCVs and in SBC issued newsletters to all households with hints on how to reduce waste.
Christmas trees are not collected from roadside. There is no garden waste collection. Advice is given that trees can be chopped down and placed into general waste bin , where space allows, or taken to the Community Recycling Centres.
Advice on what can be recycled is available on SBC website, please see website link provided below.
