I am requesting the following information to which I am entitled under the Freedom of Information Act Scotland (2002) - The number of derelict buildings in the local authority area, including former commercial or residential buildings that are not council owned
Response
The Council only hold details of Council owned premises therefore we refer to S17 of FOI(S)A 2002 and declare that the information is not held. For information the Buildings at Risk Register provides a searchable database of listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas which have fallen into a state of disrepair, most of which are vacant or part-vacant. The Register covers the whole of Scotland and is administered by Historic Environment Scotland. The Register for Scottish Borders is available online via the link below.
