Request or Question: Please can you provide the following data for an FOI request for your local authority:* The number of complaints relating to mouldy/damp rented homes received in each of the past five calendar years including this year so far.* The number of claims relating to mouldy/damp rented homes received in each of the past five calendar years including this year so far.* The number of these claims which were successful each year
* Total amount paid out on claims relating to mouldy/damp rented homes in each of the past five calendar years including this year so far
* The proportion of these claims received directly from tenants and the proportion which came through a third party of claims firm.
Response: Scottish Borders does not hold the information requested. Therefore we refer to S17 of FOI(S)A 2002 and declare that the information is not held.
Scottish Borders Council successfully completed the voluntary stock transfer of all its Council houses to Scottish Borders Housing Association in March 2003. Therefore it has no tenants or Council houses for the period covered by the questions.
Although we don't have a housing stock, there was one complaint in 2016 about a leak in one of our Homelessness Accommodation and 4 complaints where people have raised concerns about their rented properties (SBHA) or neighbouring properties.
