Request or Question: Freedom of Information RequestWhat is the 2022 budget for maintenance of cycle paths? Is there a schedule for clearing/sweeping cycle paths?By cycle paths I mean any path or former road or similar hard surface connection that is used by cyclists but not motor vehicles. This includes paths that are shared with pedestrians and walkers etc. and that may have very limited access to motor vehicles for very specific purposes.
Response: Scottish Borders Council does not have a dedicated budget for the maintenance of cycle paths. Any maintenance required will be funded from other general maintenance budgets within the Roads Network and Access and Transport teams.There is no schedule for clearing/ sweeping cycle paths, this is done on an adhoc basis as and when required.
