Thank you for your prompt response to FOI request 262. However the answer raises questions which I now put to you as a FOI request. What mechanisms are used to determine when maintenance to and cleaning/sweeping of cycle paths is required? How many times has maintenance work and, separately, cleaning/ sweeping been carried out cycle paths this financial year or in the most recent year where data is available? Details of the locations and type of this work would be greatly appreciated.

Maintenance and cleaning works on paths maintained by the Outdoor Access Team are determined by staff walk overs and reports from the public.We do not hold detailed records of all works carried out on cycle paths. For the black surfaced cycle routes which the Access Team manage we have the following records for the past financial year:Kelso to Sprouston -Strimming path side vegetation summer 21
