I'm writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act, please could you kindly supply the following information:1) How many business rates bills did you issue for the 2022/23 annual billing exercise?2) What was the business rates charged net of exemptions and reliefs for those bills?
Response
1) I can confirm that 8850 properties were liable for 2022/23 Business Rates when our annual processes were run on 30 March 2022. We will be issuing 8513 bills during week commencing 11 April 2022. For clarity, the number of bills issued includes duplicate bills where more than one party is liable for the same account. In addition, 456 bills extracted in the name of Scottish Borders Council will not be posted externally as these accounts are administered in-house.2) £ 36,458,977.75
