For the period starting 1st January 2020 and ending 31st December 2021, does your local authority: a) Have a parent and carer advisory committee?
b) Have a stakeholder advisory committee?
c) How do parents and carers apply to take part in the committee?
Response
a) Scottish Borders Council Children and Families Social Work does not have a parent and carer advisory committee.
Service specific participation groups do exist however. The Family Placement Team have a foster carer participation group, the Service Development Group and contract parental participation groups for adopters and kinship carers. Parents and carers are involved in the Self Directed Support working group and parent / carers have also been invited to attend the Transitions Steering Group. We also have parent / carers in attendance at the Autism Strategy Group.
b) Scottish Borders Council Children and Families Social Work does not have a parent and carer advisory committee.
