Request or Question
1. How much money has been allocated to community alarm inspections and assessments in every year since 1999? 2. How many community alarm assessments have been carried out in every year since 1999?
3. How many community alarms have been installed in every year since 1999?
A community alarm connects to, and uses, your own telephone to contact a trained operator. You wear a pendant with a button which, when pressed by you, sends a signal through the telephone to our centre operators. Our trained operators will speak to you directly to ask what kind of help you need. They will arrange for help to arrive, if needed. This would be used in one's own home.
Response
1. There is no specific budget allocated to inspections. Telecare inspections are carried out within the teams allocated budget. We carry out inspections on a yearly basis. Assessments are carried out by our social work team.
2. Unfortunately our system does not specifically record the Community Alarm Assessments that are undertaken. Therefore we refer to S17 of FOI(S)A 2002 and declare that the information is not held.
3. We do not have data that goes that far back. However, on average we install 35 new community alarms per month. Therefore we refer to S17 of FOI(S)A 2002 and declare that the information is not held.
