I'd like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act. Could you please release to me any or all of the following information:1. How much did your local authority spend, or commit, of its Household Support Fund allocation in the period 6 October 2021 to 31 March 2022?2. As of 1 April 2022, how much of your HSF allocation intended for the period 6 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 remained unspent or uncommitted?3. What happened to any unspent or uncommitted funding on 1 April 2022?
4. How much of the HSF allocation intended for the period 1 April 2022 to 30 September 2022 have you already spent or committed?
5. How much of the HSF allocation intended for the period 1 April 2022 to 30 September 2022 have you yet to spend or commit?
Response
The Household Support Fund is terminology used by English Local Authorities, as Scottish Borders Council is a Scottish Local Authority we do not hold information in relation to this and therefore give notice of S17 of FOI(S) A 2002.
To be helpful we have collated the following:
Scottish Local Authorities have been provided by an allowance from The Scottish Government which includes flexible funding to local authorities to support wellbeing and respond to financial insecurity.
Scottish Borders Council reported to Council for approval on 09/02/2021 and 16/11/2021 and the full details of how the Scottish Government "Addressing future need to support individuals at financial risk 2020/21" Fund was governed and allocated within Scottish Borders is available at the links below.
