What provision does this local authority provide in terms of training for school aged children in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)?How does this local authority measure the out put of this training?Broken down by year, from 2017 to 2022, what amount of training in CPR for school aged children has been provided.
Response
Cheviot Learning Community - Jedburgh Campus- During S1 and S2, pupils receive first aid training and CPR forms part of the training, this has been delivered each year since 2017.
It has not been undertaken in primary school for a number of years, but we are planning a training session for all pupils and families as we now have a defibrillator located at the Campus.
Berwickshire Learning Community – Berwickshire High school offer a block of First Aid training to our S1 and S3 students. As part of an 8 week block of lessons they receive training in CPR. This has been in place for a number of years.
Eyemouth High School offered- CPR Training happened 3 years ago in the school, but nothing since then. Reston- offered session 2019/20 by a volunteer paramedic who was a parent. Eyemouth HS- delivered first aid training to S6 students approx. 2017.
Eildon East Learning Community – No CPR training has been held in Eildon East Cluster.
Eildon West Learning Community – Galashiels Academy had De-Fib Training in 2018.
Teviot Learning Community - CPR training with S2 classes each year, this was done online during Covid-19 so no gap in this happening.
Tweeddale Learning Community – No CPR training has been held in Tweeddale Cluster.
