Request or Question: I am writing to you on behalf of Wolsey Hall Oxford, a homeschooling course provider and approved Cambridge Online School.We are keen to understand the trends in elective home education. In particular we are aware there is a growing trend towards homeschooling.In order to properly meet the needs of elective home-educated pupils in the future with structured and properly supported courses we need to understand where the demand is likely to be greatest both now and in the future.To this end we would like to ascertain how many children are currently in home education in your Council authority and compare it to data we hold from 2013 and 2018.
We would like to request the following data;
1. Number of primary age children currently in elective home education
2. Number of secondary age children currently in elective home education
We believe you are likely to hold this information split by primary and secondary ages. However, if this is not available then we would like the following instead;
3. Total number of children currently in elective home education
Response: Unfortunately we are unable to provide the split between primary and secondary ages as our records are in cluster areas.

The total number of children currently in elective home education is 111.
