Request or Question: Please can you provide me with any details or figures you can showing how often in the last two academic years and so far this academic year that the council has contacted social media platforms or other online sites (YouTube etc.) to request that footage taken on school grounds be removed. Please also provide any details of instances when the council has requested footage of pupils who attend council schools be removed from the same types of websites. If you can, please also let me know what the outcome was – i.e. was the footage removed or not and what the nature of the footage was (i.e. altercations, footage taken in class etc.).
Response: Scottish Borders Council has not contacted any social media platforms or other online sites to request any social media footage taken down.
