Does the council operate 20mph speed restrictions in the council area? How many 20mph zones are currently in operation across the council area? What is the total value of fine revenue to the council from fines following breaches of 20mph zone rules?
Response
Scottish Borders Council does not have any enforcement powers nor revenue generating powers associated with any speed limits. Police Scotland have the responsibility for speed enforcement in Scotland. There are no 20mph zones in the Borders, only 20mph speed limits.
