How many unfixed potholes are there currently recorded under the council authority? 2. How much has the council spent on pothole repairs in the last 3 years - can this be broken down by year? (From January 2021-December 2023) - Up to and including any data held for January 2024.
3. How much has the council paid out in compensation claims and legal fees relating to vehicle damage caused by potholes since Jan 2022-Dec 2023 (up to and including any data held for Jan 2024)?
Response
The data for recording the number and the repair of potholes isn’t stored in a manner which is accessible and would enable us to accurately report on the number of defects currently recorded on the network. Therefore, we give notice under 10(4)(a) of EI(S)R 2004 and declare the information is not held.
We are in the process of developing a digital Asset Management System that will allow greater detail to be recorded for specific defects and repairs in the future. 2023/24 financial year figures will not be available until May 2024
