WSP UK Ltd is currently undertaking a hydrological and hydrogeological assessment for the Environmental Statement of the Monashee Windfarm development 3 km south of Grantshouse.
I am writing therefore to request records of surface and groundwater private water supplies within 2 km of the proposed development site boundary, including information on the properties served, source location coordinates/NGRs, source type (spring, borehole, well, surface water abstraction), purpose (domestic, agricultural, industrial), average consumption (m3/day), and point of consumption. I have attached a PDF of the proposed site boundary and 2km buffer (and attached Esri GIS shapefiles of these also).
Any available data regarding the surface water modelling or regarding peat strategy for the proposed development site would also be useful. - Response

It can be confirmed that a review of Scottish Borders Council s (SBC s) dataset has been undertaken by way of identifying every private water supply (PWS) that we have recorded on our PWS register within a rectangular boundary that overlaps the 2km buffer as depicted on the supplied map excerpt entitled Monashee Data Request .
Please refer to the attached Monashee Windfarm Grantshouse - SBC Area Review for the map excerpts showing the area reviewed by SBC, which effectively captures all PWSs between Eastings 376000 to 383999 and Northings 658000 to 663999.
Please be aware that we may not have accurate information pertaining to the actual sources in the attached excerpt from our PWS register, and the excerpt really only confirms the premises which are likely to have their sources close by and potentially within the search area. As such, it is strongly recommended that an approach be made by the requestor to the premises' owners directly, to confirm the exact locations of their PWS sources. There may also be other premises within the search area that we do not have recorded on our register but which may be served by PWSs, and therefore should be considered accordingly.
Finally, for clarification, it is unclear what is meant by point of consumption (i.e. all premises/addresses believed to be served by the PWSs are identified and these are the points of consumption), and the Regulatory Classification given to each PWS on the excerpt is as per The Water Intended for Human Consumption (Private Supplies) (Scotland) Regulations 2017 as it relates to the requested purpose (domestic, agricultural, industrial) . Basically, a Type B supply is effectively a non-commercial PWS (i.e. one that is currently believed to serve just owner-occupied domestic dwellings), whereas a Regulated supply is one which has some commercial or public use of the water identified i.e. the supply serves one or more commercial premises (which may include domestic rented premises), members of the public have access to the water or there are charges made for the provision or supply of the water. - Link to download
