I am writing to request information regarding the number of licensed taxis / private hire vehicles and drivers in the Scottish Borders area over the last 5 years, as well as the cost of vehicle and driver licenses during this period. Specifically, I would like to obtain data on the following:
1. The number of licensed vehicles in operation each year from 2018 to the present separate figures for taxis and private hire vehicles.
2. The number of licensed drivers in operation each year from 2018 to the present.
3. The number of drivers renewing their licenses each year from 2018 to the present.
4. The number of new drivers who have obtained taxi licenses each year from 2018 to the present.
5. The cost of vehicle licenses for each year from 2018 to the present.
6. The cost of driver licenses for each year from 2018 to the present.
