Hawick cycle trails - Borders towns cycle routes

Town cycle route
Hawick cycle trails
Description
The routes keep to minor roads and family groups and inexperienced cyclists should be quite happy using them. Two of the trails use short sections of the A6088 road, but don't be deterred by the A classification as the road is usually fairly quiet.
Routes can be quiet hilly with fine views and downhill runs.
In addition to the four trails, a slightly longer route of 16 and 20 miles can be followed by combining trails. Alternatively, head west along the B7062 towards Peebles, with the option of visiting Traquair House or Kailzie Gardens - take the B709 out of Innerleithen to Traquair and turn right onto the B7062.
Starting point
The starting point is Upper Common Haugh car park, not far from the south end of the High Street, but on the opposite side of the River Teviot, adjacent to the A7 trunk road avoiding the town centre.
