Eildon Neighbourhood Support Fund
The EildonNeighbourhood Support Fund 2024/25 is now closed for applications. It will reopen to applications in 2025/26 and information will be available in due course
The fund provides support and assistance with the development of community-based projects and activities for voluntary and community groups that are active in their local area.
Groups who wish to take forward projects that are of benefit to the local community can apply for grants up to the value of £10k. Funding can be used for a variety of purposes such as:
- Purchase of equipment
- Salary costs
- Small capital works
- Hire and running costs
- Maintenance costs
- Capacity building projects
Projects Awarded
- Galashiels Community Council was awarded £7,500 towards the cost of new Christmas lights.
- Newtown Bumps, Babies, and Toddlers Group was awarded £3,952 for annual venue hire costs and refreshments.
- Earlston Paths Group was awarded £5,931 for the installation of an outdoor seat and information board on the Black Hill.
- Selkirk & Ashkirk Parish Church was awarded £8,000 towards the upgrade of the kitchen, as part of a larger restoration project.
- Riddell Fiddles was awarded £3,500 for extracurricular weekly music workshops in Philiphaugh and Newtown St. Boswells.
- Bright Arts CIC was awarded £3,000 to run 72 inclusive, accessible, and free crafting classes for vulnerable older people, living in care homes and sheltered housing in Galashiels and Selkirk.
