Community invited to have their say on review of daytime opportunities for older adults in Eildon

Published: 2nd October 2023

We're undertaking a review of daytime opportunities for older adults and those with complex care needs in the Eildon locality.

Together with the Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership, we're aiming to get feedback from as many individuals, organisations and community groups as possible who have an interest in the provision of daytime opportunities across the central Borders.

This includes carers and family members in recognition of the role that these can have in terms of providing respite support.

Have your say

An online consultation opened on Monday 2 October with the closing date extended to Sunday 26 November. Paper copies are available by emailing: socialworkconsultation@scotborders.gov.uk

Councillor David Parker, Executive Member for Health and Wellbeing

“As part of this consultation, we are particularly to hear the voices of people with lived experience and their carers to get their views of what they feel is needed and would be of most benefit to anyone living within the area.

“I would encourage anyone with an interest in the availability of opportunities for older people to take part, either by dropping into one of our engagement sessions or completing the online survey.

"It’s important that we get as much feedback as possible so we can make a well-informed decision as to the next steps in relation to the provision of services for the locality.”

More information

The results of the consultation will inform the Integrated Impact Assessment and recommendations for any future service provision in the Eildon area. These will be presented to the Integration Joint Board and Council in due course.
