Nominations invited for Tweeddale Citizen of the Year 2023

Local residents have until Friday 17 November to put forward names for the Tweeddale Citizen of the Year Award 2023

Since its introduction in 1991, the award recognises members of the local community who have gone the extra mile to benefit the area and played a significant part in community life.

Murray Whyte from Peebles was the recipient of the 2022 award due to his significant contribution to community life in Peebles over many years.

The selection panel was impressed by his contributions to the Re-use Hub, as well as his volunteer work with Nomad Beat and Peebles Pipe Band. His dedication as a Black Watch Veteran, ensuring tha every war grave is marked for Remembrance Day, was also acknowledged.
