The annual Clubsport Awards took place across the Borders last month, celebrating the regions sports stars and their achievements.
Berwickshire, Ettrick and Lauderdale, Roxburgh and Tweeddale are four of Scottish Clubsport’s national network of regional groups.
The four ClubSport organisations in the Borders are run by volunteers from the local sporting communities and distribute grants and develop projects at a local level. Every year the groups look for nominations of outstanding sporting performance whether that is from organisers or athletes and celebrate these through the annual Clubsport Awards.
Awards include Sports Personality of the Year, Special Achievement, Coach, Team and Club of the Year as well as Service to Local Sport.
This year’s winners included individuals and teams from a variety of sports, from local, national and Olympian levels.
In an Olympic year it is hard to look past the achievements of Borders Olympians, however the awards celebrate winners from school age participants to those who have given a lifetime of service to sport.
Councillor Euan Jardine, Leader of Scottish Borders Council said:
"The Scottish Borders has a unique tapestry of sporting talent and club network, where volunteers play a vital part. These awards are a real celebration of the regions sports stars and recognise some of the fantastic achievements from across the Borders. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and to those who picked up an award".
