Waste and Recycling Service Update - November 2024

We are currently experiencing significant staff shortages which is having an impact on our ability to deliver bins, as priority is being given to the scheduled collection of bins.

We are working hard to rectify this situation, but please be aware that you may experience longer than normal bin delivery timescales. We ask for your patience in this matter and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Requesting a bin

You can request a new or replacement bin if:

  • your bin has gone missing (please check your street to see if it is near by)
  • your bin has been damaged
  • you have moved into a house which has no bins

Larger general waste bin requests

You can take extra waste and recycling to any of our Community Recycling Centres.

You may be able to request a larger bin depending on your family size and if anyone has a medical condition that creates extra waste.  If you meet the criteria a member of staff will contact you to arrange an assessment.

Larger recycling bin requests

If you have extra recycling you can put it in bags (not black bags) or flatpack cardboard, and place it beside your bin on collection day.  Alternatively you can take extra waste and recycling to any of our Community Recycling Centres.

If you regularly have extra recycling you can request a larger recycling bin.
