Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza near Lamancha, Scottish Borders
Important information for local poultry and bird keepers - please read and take action
Two cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (bird flu) have been confirmed in the Lamancha area of the Scottish Borders since 18 December.
Disease control zones and restrictions apply in the area. If you keep poultry (chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese etc) or captive birds (pigeons, birds of prey etc) in either of the blue 3km or black 10km control zones shown on the APHA website, please update your details or register on the Scottish Kept Bird Register immediately. This is a legal requirement.
To do this, please visit Kept Bird Register online or phone 01466 405101. You must complete this process by Tuesday 30 December 2025.
