We asked for your views on the current provision of polling places, whether they met requirements or whether there were more suitable locations within communities.

We did

Relocated the following polling places on a permanent basis:

• Balmoral Primary School Nursery to the Focus Centre, Galashiels
• St. Peters Primary School to St Peters Church Hall, Galashiels
• St. Margaret’s Primary School, Hawick to the Catholic Church Hall

Agreed to further consult with community councils on the closure of 10 polling places with less than 100 electors (no polling places were closed following this consultation).

Investigate the feasibility of moving the polling station from Priorsford Primary School, Peebles to Peebles High School (this was done and the polling station was moved to the Peebles High School gymnasium for the May 2015 elections, feedback is being collected from all parties to see if this will become a permanent move).
