In prison
You will need to provide a letter from a solicitor, the court or the prison confirming:
- the date of committal
- length of sentence
- nature of offence
In military detention
You must be detained for a period of more than 48 hours. This does not relate to custody under open arrest.
You will need to provide a letter confirming details of the period of the detention and that you are being detained under:
- The Army Act 1955 (9)
- The Air Force Act 1955 (10)
- The Naval Discipline Act 1957 (11)
