Upholstered domestic seating for traders
There is new guidance for the storage and disposal of upholstered furniture, such as sofas, chairs, and beanbags. This means that we must manage the way we accept and store this waste at our sites ensuring we keep these items separate from other waste types.
Community Recycling Centres, Eshiels and Hawick Waste Transfer station will no longer be able accept upholstered domestic seating from trade customers. Further information is available.
These changes follow guidance issued from the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and relates to the storage and disposal of upholstered domestic seating containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs).
