Tour of Britain 2024

Roads information

The race will operate under a rolling road closure, managed by the Police. This will mainly come into effect around 15 minutes before the first riders pass, and will be lifted once the race has passed.

There will be minimal restrictions required outwith Kelso. Some notable restictions are in place in Melrose and Jedburgh. Where restrictions are required, this is to ensure the safety of the race and spectators.

Maps of full road closures in Kelso and parking and other restrictions around the route can be viewed online.

Please note that due to the rolling road closure delays may be experienced along the race route and where it crosses other roads. This is particularly likely on the A68 between Jedburgh and the Ancrum junction and at St Boswells. Accordingly, some temporary speed restrictions will be in place for the safety of motorists.

Kelso road closures/parking restrictions

The following town centre road closures and restrictions will be in place before and during the event to facilitate the event and accommodate start/finish infrastructure.

Businesses expecting deliveries during these times can contact jwarcup@scotborders.gov.uk or events@scotborders.gov.uk with an idea of the time expected, area for unloading and duration of deliveries to enable solutions to be found where possible.

Residents expecting any home courier deliveries during these times are asked to make alternative arrangements.

Pedestrian access will be available at all times.

Residents can make use of on-street and off-street parking elsewhere in the town where this is not restricted. Border Ice Rink car park is also available for resident parking on Tuesday 3 September, as is Springwood Park between 7.30am and 6pm.
