Introducing Viva Engage (Yammer)
Viva Engage (previously known as Yammer) is a social media platform that provides a secure and convenient way for all staff to communicate and collaborate. It’s like merging the best parts of Facebook and LinkedIn together to help everyone at SBC form meaningful relationships and improve the way we work.
It’s a platform where ideas can be shared across the Council easily, staff can work smarter and most importantly have their voice heard.
Viva Engage can be used to:
- build better relationships
- improve employee engagement
- promote knowledge and skill sharing
- keep staff informed and involved
- save time by preventing duplicate work
- help co-workers connect
- share pictures of that Eggs Florentine you ‘just rustled up’ for your lunch and now feel compelled to show everyone
Pet pictures, brainstorms and Council updates
Do you have an important update for all staff? Maybe you’re looking to collaborate on a project with another department? Have you just caught your dog chewing through your work headphones?
Viva Engage is the place for all that and lots more. You can:
- join groups based on your interests and responsibilities
- create public or private groups for departments or projects
- connect with like-minded people
It’s designed to improve the way we work together whilst having a light-hearted fun aspect too.

How can I access Viva Engage?
Viva Engage is available as part of Teams. There's also a dedicated Adult Social Care community that you can join to keep up to date with the latest news from the service.
